Getting Ready
We are packing the camper and purchasing last minute supplies for our trip to Houston. Barbara suggested I try a mini-blog so here I am. In a minute, I will try uploading a picture.
We are leaving early Wed. morning and planning to take 4 days to get to Houston. The purpose of our trip is to visit Meg and Jared and their new ten-week old puppy, Shiloh, in their new home. We will be traveling through Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisana and Texas. According to our Mapquest directions it's 1453.63 miles and should take 22 hours and 33 minutes.
We will be camping along the way, probably the first night in southern Virginia. Hopefully, I will be able to post entries to this blog along our route, depending on wireless accessibility. We don't have air conditioning in the camper, so that is a concern. We have bought a new Ford pickup truck for the journey and the camper fits nicely on the truck.
We are leaving very hot temperatures here in Maryland for even hotter temperatures in the deep south. I know too we will be awed by the hurricane devastation we will still see along the way.
Now that promised picture of the camper on the new truck.
